Program Information
A Veterinarian, graduated from the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional trained in animal sciences and veterinary medicine. He/She has the skills to work in the fields of animal welfare and animal health, veterinary epidemiology and public health, animal production, and wildlife conservation and protection.
The basic and specialized training will allow the graduate to perform diagnoses and to apply treatments in domestic and wild animals; to design programs for the prevention and control of diseases transmissible to humans; to plan production processes that favor the production of foods of animal origin and their safety for the consumers; and to design programs for wildlife protection, conservation and management.
He/she is able to work autonomously, to act ethically, with responsibility and professional and social commitment, and to work as part of a team, effectively communicating his/her intentions regarding the resolution of profession-related issues.
Occupational Field
A Veterinarian, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, will have the skills to work in the public and private sector, for research and development centers, NGOs, clinical and pharmacological laboratories and other national and international institutions, or self-employed.
