Program Information
UFROs Special Education program trains teaching professionals with the skills to work in a field of diversity, promoting the successful inclusion of individuals with disabilities and their families in society.
The students’ training in learning and assessment theories, the detection of special educational needs, legal frameworks, collaborative work and co-teaching, inclusive technologies, etc., allows them to develop teaching methods with diversification strategies; to carry out a multidimensional assessment of the individual and the context he/she lives in; to implement support plans for the elimination of educational barriers; and to manage inclusion proposals for conventional and non-conventional spaces for respect and appreciation of diversity.
The graduates have a comprehensive knowledge of the regional context, social awareness and responsibility, as well as ethical values, with an emphasis on effective communication, teamwork and continuous professional development and updating.

The graduates of this program have the skills to work in educational establishments, public and private entities, as well as self-employed.
