A Natural Resources Engineer, graduated from the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional in earth science with the skills to work on the use, conservation and preservation of natural resources, territorial planning and the creation of research, development and environmental education projects.

He is trained in basic sciences; the application of the scientific method in environmental legislation; evaluation; the management of the resources soil, water, vegetation and fauna; and in environmental sciences.

His training enables him to solve problems; to develop conservation and preservation plans; to evaluate the environmental impacts associated with the use of natural resources; to diagnose and plan the territory; and to develop research and development projects, by assembling work teams, being interested in constant learning and managing the scientific and technological knowledge transfer.

The graduate has the capacity to effectively communicate and to manage information technologies, respecting the people, the environment and accepting cultural diversity with social responsibility.

Public and private services; research and development centers; producer, community, farmer and non-governmental organizations; other local participation agencies; or in free professional practice.

A Biotechnologist, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional with the skills to work in different fields of science and development, and in the management of biotechnological processes.

The graduates are trained in basic science, with the ability to apply the scientific method to the development of productive biotechnological processes related to the field of agriculture, the environment, and animal and human health.
The scientific training allows the graduate to propose, develop and optimize processes through research by using biotechnological tools to solve environment associated problems, in order to contribute to the protection of biological resources.

The graduate has the capacity of effective communication, critical thinking, entrepreneurship, autonomous and team work, and handling of information technology, all within a framework of social responsibility, which includes ethical aspects and cultural diversity.

Occupational field

Academic centers, scientific or technological research, laboratories and productive companies related to the field of biotechnology, contributing to research, development and innovation in the field of biology, or continuing with postgraduate and specialization studies in the different areas of development.

The aim of the Business Administration Program is to provide a comprehensive vocational training in the fields of administration and economics, in order to train professionals with interpersonal and instrumental skills that allow them to contribute with their knowledge, work and actions to an efficient improvement of the management and decision-making processes in regional or national private and public organizations, thus contributing to the economic growth of the country. The professional training enables the graduates to create, direct and manage companies and organizations of different sizes and characteristics, with a global vision and social responsibility.

A Business Engineer, graduated from the Universidad de La Frontera, is qualified to work in companies and national or transnational organizations (industrial, commercial or service oriented), performing managerial tasks and/or as a consultant in the different functional areas of the company or organization, or self-employed.

 

Program Information

An Agricultural Engineer, trained at the Universidad de La Frontera, is a professional in agricultural sciences, with skills to work in the fields of integrated systems of agricultural production; agriculture, livestock and agri-food management; use of renewable natural resources; and technology transfer.

He/She knows basic and applied sciences, including the scientific method, which allows the graduate to efficiently diagnose, plan and optimize production processes in the fields of crop production, fruit growing, horticulture and livestock.
The graduate is capable of interrelating agricultural productivity with biotic and abiotic factors, which favor the conservation of nature and its biodiversity.

Another element of the training is to lead and put together teams for multidisciplinary work and, within a professional ethical context, to develop activities in applied technology transfer.

He/She also has the capacity to effectively communicate in a professional and technical language, using information technology in a context of social, cultural and environmental responsibility.
